A Time for Growth

ITAV has been steadily growing over the past few months and are now at capacity for doorstep deliveries. We are temporarily no longer accepting applications for delivery, though we are working to expand our capacity as quickly as possible to open this back up. If you can spare a 3 hours a month or every other week to help deliver food to folks in your area experiencing food insecurity, you can fill out our volunteer application.

We know that so many are still struggling in the wake of COVID-19. Putting together this operation has shown us just how big an issue food insecurity is in our county, not just during the pandemic, but as a systemic issue. Rest assured we are keenly aware of this and intend to be part of the longer-term solution. In the meantime, we are seeing the very best of humanity, people coming together to help each other with no consideration of all the things that often divide us. It is this spirit of humanity that we must tap into, the common human experience, that will be required to ultimately see to our vision that no one has to worry where their next meal will come from ever again.

We enjoy hearing from the folks we are serving – please keep sending those messages in! And to all our volunteers, no amount of thanks would be sufficient. You are wonderful and we are all better for having you in our lives.
